Question
Will the Cabinet Minister provide details of the work being undertaken to improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of cancer data across NHS Wales, including the collection and publication of data on patient outcomes, experience and health inequalities by demographic group?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The Welsh Government is bringing forward a National Cancer Strategy – the first of its kind in twenty years - which will set out its approach to improving the quality, consistency and use of cancer data and the publication of data on cancer care and outcomes. In parallel with the development of the Strategy, the Welsh Government is working with health boards and Digital Health and Care Wales to refine the requirements for data integration that will permit future improvements to data sharing and reporting, including what demographic data will be used and made publicly available.
