Open SeneddCymraeg

Monitoring reports

A report on the subjects your work depends on, every week or every morning: what happened in the Senedd and the Welsh Government, what it means, and what to watch. Every point links to the official record.

What's in each report

  • An overview and key takeaways. Where the Government stands, what it committed to, where parties or witnesses disagree and what happens next, drawn from the week's record.
  • What was said in the Senedd on your subjects. Debates, statements, questions and committee evidence, summarised on your subjects alone, with each point linked to the exact place in the transcript.
  • Votes, written questions and answers. How each vote went, and the gist of each written answer from Ministers.
  • Committee reports and papers, petitions and Senedd Research on your subjects.
  • Welsh Government statements, announcements and consultations, with consultations closing soon.
  • News headlines that matter for your subjects, with a link to each outlet.
  • Coming up: the meetings in the week ahead.

A real report

This is the report for environment and rural affairs for 17 to 23 October 2026, built from that week's record.

The top of a monitoring report on environment and rural affairs: an overview of the week and six key takeaways, each with links to its sources.Read the whole report

How it works

  1. Choose your subjects, such as farming, climate, health or housing, and add words to follow, such as an organisation, a place or a Bill.
  2. Choose weekly, on Friday afternoon, or daily, on weekday mornings, in English or Welsh.
  3. Add colleagues to receive each report. Every report can also be opened in a browser and forwarded.

How reports are made

Reports are built automatically from the Senedd's record and papers, the Welsh Government's publications, Senedd Research and news headlines. AI writes the overview, takeaways and summaries from those sources only. Every point links to what it rests on, and anything that can't be traced to a source is left out.

What stays free

Everything on Open Senedd stays free to read, and so do email alerts for a word or phrase and the weekly email. Monitoring reports are for people who need the week's business on their subjects sifted, summarised and explained.
