Question
Will the Cabinet Minister provide the reasoning as to why she has asked for a refresh of Celebrate and Participate: education guidance to support Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children and young people?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Education and the Welsh Language (Anna Brychan)
The refresh of Celebrate and Participate fulfils a commitment in the Anti-racist Wales Action Plan and responds to evidence that, while the guidance is valued, implementation is inconsistent and approaches can be strengthened. The updated guidance will reflect effective current practice in supporting Gypsy, Roma and Traveller learners in education.
