Question
Will the Cabinet Minister ensure that Welsh pubs are not at a disadvantage to English pubs by ensuring that their business rates are frozen at the current level for the 2027-29 financial years and commit to implementing an additional 20 per cent cut?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Finance (Elin Jones)
The Welsh Government is improving non-domestic rates support for eligible hospitality businesses from 1 April 2027, through the permanent rebalancing of the system set out in my oral statement on 15 September. The associated regulations were laid on 6 October, accompanied by a Regulatory Impact Assessment and summary of the Welsh Government’s Integrated Impact Assessment.
