How many patients in Wales have received elective care treatment since April 2025?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Referral to treatment (RTT) activity can be measured by the number of patient pathways closed. Pathways are closed when treatment begins or when it is determined that treatment is not necessary. The available data do not enable us to discern between the different reasons for pathways closing.
Between April 2025 and December 2025, the latest period for which data are available, 1,101,638 RTT pathways were closed in Wales.
The number of patient pathways is not the same as the number of individual patients, because some people have multiple open pathways.
