How many of the 10,000 jobs announced at the investment summit are in construction, and how many are permanent?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
More than 10,000 jobs were included in announcements relating to the Wales Investment Summit that was held on 1 December 2025. The following breakdown of job numbers can be provided:
• 3,000 jobs will be created on Anglesey following confirmation that Wylfa will be the site of the UK’s first small modular reactor nuclear power station.
• AI Growth Zones in North and South East Wales will create 3,400 and 5,000 jobs respectively.
• A further 21 companies will create around 2,500 jobs. These come from companies where details cannot be published to preserve both official statistics and commercial confidentiality status.
Companies have not provided information about the number of construction-related jobs that may be included in these job numbers, nor has an analysis been undertaken on GVA retention.
The above figures do not include a further 600 existing jobs that have been safeguarded in Wales since the Wales Investment Summit was launched. This is further testimony to the positive impact of the Summit and the Welsh Government’s commitment to support business as part of our drive to deliver economic growth.
