What consideration has the Cabinet Minister given to the impact of the Seren programme on Welsh universities in encouraging the brightest and best of our students to leave Wales to pursue higher educational opportunities?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education (Cefin Campbell)
As I set out in a recent Written Statement, our ambition is to develop a new national learner progression programme which brings together the strongest elements of Academi Seren and the Reaching Wider Programme, currently funded by Medr, into a single, coherent offer for learners across Wales.
Our new approach should help retain talent, strengthen our skills base and support our economic ambitions. Where learners choose to study or work elsewhere, I want them to remain connected to Wales and encouraged to return.
