Question
What consideration did the Welsh Government give to distributing the £335,000 essential support grant funding through an open application process rather than restricting eligibility to organisations already core-funded by the Books Council of Wales?
Answer
Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport (Heledd Fychan)
While the previous Welsh Government administration considered the overall funding proposal before the funding award was approved, the Books Council of Wales was responsible for determining eligibility to organisations in line with the purpose of the funding and its established assessment and grant management processes.
