Question
Will the Cabinet Secretary outline whether more council houses in Wales were built between 1945 and 1951, than have been built since 1975?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
Information on the number of new dwellings completed prior to 1974-75 is available in the Welsh Digest:
[ARCHIVED CONTENT] Welsh Government | Digest of Welsh historical statistics
Information on the number of new dwellings completed from 1974-75 onwards is available on StatsWales:
New dwellings completed by period and tenure
Please note that figures for earlier years (prior to 1958) are produced from a different source, and for this reason, are not directly comparable to figures for later years.
