Question
What plans does the Welsh Government have to ensure that families entitled to the 20-hour childcare offer will not be disadvantaged in securing places compared to those entitled to 30 hours?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
The universal 20-hour entitlement will operate alongside the existing offer of up to 30 hours, with implementation designed to ensure families are not disadvantaged when seeking a place. We will work with local authorities and providers to plan for demand and capacity and support fair access for all eligible families.
