Question
Will the Cabinet Minister provide an update on any discussions they have had with the UK Government regarding designating St David’s Day a national holiday in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Government Effectiveness & the Constitution (Dafydd Trystan Davies)
This Government is committed to seeking the powers to make St David’s Day a public holiday for Wales. While we have not yet progressed this matter with the UK Government, we remain clear in our view that the decision about designating St David’s Day as a national holiday in Wales should be made in Wales.
