Question
Will the Cabinet Minister provide a list of the journalists whose accommodation costs were paid for to attend the Visit Wales event as recorded in the Welsh Government's procurement card spend data for May 2026?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy (Adam Price)
As is standard practice for all UK and international tourism bodies, Visit Wales organises a limited number of structured media trips each year to generate coverage in priority markets and based on a return on investment. The costs itemised covered accommodation and in some instances economy flights from the US to the UK.
The group included US, Canadian, German and Dutch journalists writing for tier one titles in priority tourism markets. Included in the trip in question were media contacts writing for titles such as:
• Haute Living San Francisco
• Galavante
• Margriet magazine
• Rhein-Zeitung, Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung, Stuttgarter Zeitung, Mein Magazin Reise
