How will the Welsh Government ensure that pathology services in Wales are backed up by modern, interoperable IT systems that enable the implementation of new technologies, including artificial intelligence?

The Welsh Government recognises that modern, interoperable digital systems are essential to support safe, sustainable pathology services and to enable the adoption of new technologies, where they are clinically appropriate and properly governed.
Digital Health and Care Wales is progressing with Laboratory Information Management System implementation across NHS Wales to provide a uniform digital platform for pathology services, supporting improved information sharing and future service development.
