Question
What legal advice has the Counsel General provided to the Welsh Government regarding the Senedd's legal capacity to legislate on matters explicitly reserved to the UK Parliament under the Government of Wales Act 2006?
Answer
Answered by Counsel General
Each Senedd legislative proposal will be assessed against the legislative competence tests in the Government of Wales Act 2006. A legislative proposal is outside of the Senedd’s legislative competence where it relates to a matter explicitly reserved to the UK Parliament.
