How much funding did the Cabinet Minister agree for a report on the extension of the franchise in Wales and the change to qualification for membership of the Senedd, as set out in the Decision Report on 18 June 2026?

The cost of the research that the Welsh Government has commissioned to understand the impact of the extension of the franchise in Wales and the change to qualification for membership of the Senedd, as required by s38 of the Senedd and Elections Act 2020, is around £41,000. The research commenced in July 2026 and is due to be completed in November 2026, when the final report will be published on the Welsh Government’s website.
