Question
What is the Welsh Government doing to improve water quality in tributaries and small streams across Wales?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
Improving the health of our water environment is a priority for this Government and is reflected in our newly published Programme for Government. Through a whole-catchment approach, we are working with Natural Resources Wales, water companies, farmers and local communities to tackle pollution at source and restore river health.
This includes strengthening environmental regulation, reducing nutrient and sediment run-off, restoring river habitats and securing investment to improve water quality in rivers, tributaries and streams across Wales.
