Question
Will the Cabinet Minister confirm whether the Welsh Government wants asylum seekers granted refugee status in Wales to remain and live here?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
Individuals who are granted refugee status are entitled to rebuild their lives in safety in the UK. For individuals who are placed in Wales by the Home Office, and who then secure refugee status and choose to make Wales their home, the Welsh Government is committed to help them rebuild their lives and support them to integrate and contribute fully to Welsh society.
