What additional financial support is the Welsh Government providing Hywel Dda University Health Board to address staffing shortages?

Responsibility for ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to local service demand rests with individual NHS Wales organisations. Health boards are expected to plan and deploy their workforce to meet population needs and service requirements, and to do so within the resources available to them.
Alongside annual NHS funding allocations, the Welsh Government continues to invest in the workforce through education and training, and national workforce initiatives that support the recruitment, retention and development of NHS staff across Wales. It is for Hywel Dda University Health Board to determine how best to use the resources available to it to deliver safe and effective services.
