Question
What action is the Welsh Government taking to ensure that NHS health boards have amended their policies to ensure single-sex spaces for staff and visitors are legally compliant and only admit staff, patients and visitors of the relevant biological sex, and by what date must health boards be compliant?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The EHRC is the regulator responsible for monitoring compliance with equality and human rights law, ensuring that public authorities and other duty bearers meet their obligations. We expect all NHS Wales bodies to comply with their legal duties under the Equality Act 2010, and ensure services are delivered fairly, inclusively and with respect and dignity for all patients.
