Question
What consideration has the Cabinet Minister given to funding the erection of a statue of Bonnie Tyler to pay homage to her musical prowess and its impact on the world stage?
Answer
Answered by Trefnydd, Chief Whip and Cabinet Minister for Culture and Sport (Heledd Fychan)
The Welsh Government recognises Bonnie Tyler’s significant contribution to Welsh culture and international success as a recording artist. As noted in the First Minister’s tribute following her passing, Wales has lost a true icon, whose music brought joy to so many.
Any proposals to commemorate Bonnie Tyler’s legacy would be considered in partnership with interested parties, including relevant local authorities.
