We call for the introduction of Molly’s Law based on our own experience of heartbreak. We left Molly, a much loved golden Labrador, with an unlicensed pet care provider and she never came home. Her loss exposed a dangerous gap: pet owners can’t easily tell who is licensed, inspected, and operating to welfare standards. As demand for home boarding and day care grows, so does the risk of unregulated operators presenting as “professional". Molly’s Law calls for clear standards, routine inspections, real penalties, and a public register so families can quickly verify the suitability of all pet care providers.
