The Senedd recently raised the occupancy threshold from 70 days to 182 to qualify for small business rates relief. This is very difficult to achieve particularly in inland areas. Tourism is being adversely affected and businesses are shutting down at a worrying rate.
More details
Most of these holiday lets are converted farm buildings or accommodation that is unsuitable for permanent living. We are not taking housing away from first time buyers. We are just providing small scale holiday lets and providing employment and revenue to local businesses.
