More than 660 teaching staff have lost their jobs since 2024. A number of full-time lecturers are not deterred and are fighting it out in Employment Tribunal alleging, amongst other things, dismissal based on trumped up charges, wrongful dismissal, unfair dismissal, fabricated evidence, breach of contract, failure to divulge contract, victimisation, whistleblowing and discrimination (including discrimination arising from disability). It's time for a Senedd enquiry- no faith in MEDR supposedly responsible for governance issues in Higher Education. Plaid Cymru extend a commitment to hold an enquiry but its precise remit not yet determined. It's clear the enquiry must be sector-wide, tackling funding & working culture.
