Scrutiny of the Welsh Government Draft Budget 2023 - 24 - evidence session 2: Minister for Finance and Local Government
Thank you, Minister, and thank you, Chair. If I could actually just come back then, you mentioned there about local authorities having quite effective collection rates. As you know, during the pandemic, extra money was given to local authorities to help them…

Scrutiny of the Welsh Government Draft Budget 2023 - 24 - evidence session 2: Minister for Finance and Local Government
Thank you, Chair, and I've got to apologise for before. I'm having a few technical issues. So, if I start to turn green, as in the screen, I'll have to take the camera off. But thanks ever so much for attending today's evidence session, Minister. There were…

Scrutiny of the Welsh Government Draft Budget 2023-24 - evidence session 1: local government
Thank you, Chair, and thanks ever so much for those responses. I've only really got two questions left, if that's okay, Chair. The first one is about council tax collection rates. I know, during the pandemic, that the Welsh Government provided additional…

Scrutiny of the Welsh Government Draft Budget 2023-24 - evidence session 1: local government
Thank you, Chair, and apologies about this morning, it's been an absolute nightmare in terms of the technical issues. I just want to thank everyone for coming today to the meeting, and it's nice to see you again, Councillor Morgan. You're looking good, as…

Welsh Conservatives Debate: Liver disease
Thank you, Dirprwy Lywydd, and it's my pleasure to open this debate today in the name of Darren Millar. There are a number of very important reasons for bringing this debate forward on what is the national awareness day for less survivable cancers, with the…

Debate on the Local Government and Housing Committee Report: 'Community Assets'
I'd like to start by echoing the comments already made, and thanking John Griffiths for bringing this to debate and for all the work he does as Chair of the committee. As someone who has spoken numerous times in this Chamber about how important it is to…

Topical Questions
Counsel General, as part of your assessment, have you considered the International Labour Organization's acceptance, which the TUC subscribes to, that minimum service levels are a proportionate way of balancing the right to strike with the need to protect the…
9 January 2023Petitions Committee
Updates to previous petitions
Thank you, Chair. And just for a side note, really: I've been meeting a lot of charities and community organisations like Dogs Trust and Blue Cross and that, interestingly in relation to the greyhound petition, but I have actually been having discussions with…

New Petitions
Thank you, Chair. I know Suzy quite well and I know she's extremely passionate about this issue. I'm conscious that the consultation has just closed. Would it not be mindful or wise for us to hold to see what comes of that consultation before closing this?…
9 January 2023Petitions Committee
New Petitions
Thank you, Chair. Interestingly enough, I led a short debate on this subject in the Chamber just before Christmas. I'm conscious that Welsh Water have now issued plans to upgrade the sewage system around Brecon, Usk and Llanfoist. Obviously, I know the…

New Petitions
Thank you, Chair. I'm conscious we have discussed similar petitions like this in the past. As you know, I fully agree with this. I think that we should be having a referendum on whether or not we expand the size of the Senedd, because it's not just about the…
