Questions to the First Minister
First Minister, the question I asked you is dealing with what we have before us now. I can understand you obviously outlining where you think things should go, but ultimately we have before us an announcement from the company that is going to shut…

Questions to the First Minister
Thank you, Presiding Officer. On Friday, we heard the devastating news about the closure of the blast furnaces at Port Talbot, First Minister. Nearly 3,000 jobs are going. Obviously, replacement arc furnaces are coming in their place. It is a fact that a…

Welsh Conservatives Debate: Healthcare inspection and funding
I'm grateful for that, Carolyn. Don't you see the inspectorate is an integral part of the health operation and health service here in Wales, given that you represent an area that's had so many disasters in the provision of health services, especially mental…

Statement by the Minister for Health and Social Services: Winter pressures in healthcare
Minister, in previous responses you've given, you've talked about the junior doctors' strike, with the protests outside the Senedd today. I understand the financials of it; it is a challenging environment. The BMA have a claim that they've put forward that…

Questions to the First Minister
In the current draft budget, you're cutting the budget of Healthcare Inspectorate Wales. It is quite right the point that you make that it is not for Ministers to direct the inspectorate where to go, but you have a direct role as a Government in the resources…

Questions to the First Minister
First Minister, you talk about balance; I gave you a direct quote from the foreword of the report. Those weren't my words about them being unable to find this evidence. These were their words. And I notice you do have a habit of trying to make it look as if…

Questions to the Minister for Health and Social Services
Thank you, Minister, for that answer. I heard in exchanges with the Deputy Minister about delayed transfers of patients out of hospitals who are medically fit back into the community. This time last year, you gave a statement to the Chamber that indicated 12…

Questions to the First Minister
Anyone who drives dangerously or deliberately breaks the law deserves to be prosecuted, but when you bring bad law forward that isn't clear, such as the law that you have brought forward here—the tweet that the Deputy Minister put out yesterday said that the…

Questions to the First Minister
Well, that's as clear as mud, isn't it, First Minister? I mean, I've got the words that you used here. You actually said that the 'genuinely confused' would not be prosecuted or fined, and then you went on to say, 'rather than just being confused.' You can…

Questions to the First Minister
Thank you, Presiding Officer, and could I identify with the comments that you made at the start of the Plenary session about J.P.R. Williams, a resident of the Vale of Glamorgan, and someone who I had the pleasure of enjoying his company on several occasions?…
