The First Minister’s legislative statement on 14 July set out our ambition for a private rented sector which is defined by stronger rights and higher standards. To help achieve our ambition, we are developing new legislation aiming to protects tenants, tackle poor practice, and make renting more secure and affordable. We are currently exploring which additional renters’ rights and protections are required in Wales, including considering provisions in relation to pets.
