What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the impact of childcare deserts on families?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
The Welsh Government is developing its expanded funded childcare offer in phases, working with local authorities, providers and the Expansion of Childcare Expert Steering Group to improve access, simplify the system and provide childcare options that work for families. We monitor childcare availability through statutory Childcare Sufficiency Assessments, which identify gaps in provision and barriers to access, with local authorities required to take action to address identified needs.
