Has the Welsh Government conducted an economic impact assessment of the costs for businesses of a deposit-return scheme that does not align with other such schemes across the United Kingdom?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy (Adam Price)
In line with standard practice when introducing legislation in Wales, the costs and benefits of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) have been assessed through the relevant impact assessment process. The impact assessments prepared to inform the Senedd’s scrutiny of The Deposit Scheme for Drinks Containers (Wales) Regulations 2026 are available here.
