The Welsh Government works closely with industry, the skills sector and other public sector partners to identify the future skills requirements of the marine energy and offshore wind sectors.
The Future Skills Summit on 8 October will bring together a wide range of stakeholders to discuss current and future workforce needs across priority sectors including renewable energy. The Welsh Government is also undertaking a National Skills Audit to strengthen our evidence base on future skills needs. The findings of the audit will help inform future policy and investment decisions across a range of programmes and sectors, including marine energy and offshore wind.
Officials work closely on an ongoing basis with Marine Energy Wales, the UK Government's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership, Regional Skills Partnerships, Medr and employers to understand current and emerging workforce challenges and opportunities. This engagement helps ensure that Welsh skills provision is informed by the latest intelligence on sector developments, investment pipelines and future occupational demand.
